However, the free version only unblocks your favorite websites. To enjoy VPN features, such as server locations and unlimited bandwidth, you need to subscribe to the paid PureVPN service.
What does Web VPN offer?
Web VPN offers a free and easy-to-use web browser with built-in security features. The app comes with a simple interface. Once launched, you will see a search bar where you can enter your desired URL. Click Visit Site, and the app will take you there in a matter of seconds. The app also promises to hide your real IP address as you visit the website you provided.
More than hiding your IP address, using the app also allows you to unblock sites that are restricted in your area. However, note that you cannot use it on streaming websites, such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. Moreover, you do not have unlimited bandwidth and speed. Also, you cannot choose any server locations, unlike other VPN apps. You can get them by subscribing to the PureVPN service.
When you visit a website, you will also see a notice that says "Others can see what you do online" with a prompt to activate VPN. However, clicking the button will then lead you to a page for NordVPN. The app will even show you your IP address as you browse the web, meaning it does not really hide them contrary to its description.
Should you use it?
Based on its description, Web VPN is a good app to have as it provides protected internet surfing under a single hood. However, upon download and installation, users will be up for disappointment as the app does not work as advertised. It does not protect your privacy unless you subscribe to the paid VPN services it offers. In the end, it only works as a simple web browser.
